Social Media Contribution Guidelines

These guidelines are in place to help create a safe and inclusive environment on all social media channels run by Northern Lights Metropolitan Community Church (NLMCC). The aim of our social media is to create an environment where people can engage with NLMCC and participate in relevant conversations. We ask that anyone who engages with our social media channels show courtesy, kindness & respect for all other Users of our social media channels.
In order to help create this safe and inclusive environment, we have a social media policy that these guidelines are a part of.
By engaging with our social media channels you agree to the following guidelines:
Comments must not:
Breach of guidelines
NLMCC reserves the right to determine, at our discretion, whether contributions to our social media channels breach our guidelines and/or Social Media Policy.
NLMCC reserves the right to hide or delete comments made on our channels, as well as block users who do not follow these guidelines and/or Social Media Policy.
NLMCC also reserves the right to send any comments we deem appropriate to law enforcement authorities for investigation as we feel necessary or is required by law.
Contacting us through social media
Users have the ability to contact NLMCC through our social media channels. They have the right for their conversations with the social media team to be kept private.
The times that we will break the confidentiality of the conversation through our social media channels are as follows:
If we receive any information which indicates that people are a danger to themselves or others.
The Social Media Team will always check for the contactors’ permission to share details of the conversation and/or personal details before sharing such information (as in passing contact details to a ministry team leader to get involved with that team).

- Contain spam, be defamatory of any person, deceive others, be obscene, offensive, threatening, abusive, hateful, inflammatory or promote sexually explicit material or violence
- Promotes discrimination based on race, sex, gender identity, religion, nationality, disability, sexual orientation or age
- Breach the terms of any of the social media platforms themselves
- Be off-topic, irrelevant or unintelligible
- Contain any advertising or promote any services (without prior approval)
- Post content about people who attend our church services and/or other events run by NLMCC, without prior consent of the person in question and the Social Media Coordinator
