Social Action

Rainbow Home (North East England) started as a joint project between Northern Lights MCC and MESMAC North East in 2012 for LGBT people seeking asylum and those who have been given status but are not yet settled in the UK.
In 2017 Rainbow Home achieved charitable status, granted by The Charity Commission, and now runs as a separate charity. Watch this space for a link to their own website soon. If you would like more information, contact alex.rainbowhome@gmail.com or speak to Charlotte West who is a trustee for Rainbow Home and their Treasurer.
We support local charities, such as The People’s Kitchen and the West End Refugee Service (WERS).
The food from our Harvest Service also goes to the People's Kitchen
Northern Lights MCC is present at Northern Pride and other regional pride events, World AIDS Day and IDAHO events.
We also support MCC’s ministry worldwide on Global Justice issues.
